    Your best mortgage option hinges on variables. Its my job to hash out those variables with you. Pose questions which you may not otherwise think of.

     

    -How long will you stay in the home? A mortgage with a 5 year horizon should look very different than a mortgage with a 20 year horizon. Now days, the average American only stays in their mortgage about 5 years. Then either sells (pays off the mortgage) or Refinances their mortgage when interest rates drop.

     

    -What will your income be in the coming years? Up or down? Perhaps retirement, leaving corporate America, inheritance, bonus income, the sale of a large taxable asset?

     

    -Is marriage/divorce in my future? Maybe a little of each? You'll need cash for both. Pulling from the equity in your home is a cheap way to acquire quick cash.

     

    -Good lord, must be the oysters & Marvin Gay records, are we pregnant again? If so, should we Refinance to get our monthly payment down?
